Abercorn Farm is a regenerative two acre market garden in its third year of growing, nestled in the County Wicklow countryside on the grounds of Belmont Demesne. On this guided tour, you'll walk the entire growing operation from seed to field — understanding not just what we grow, but exactly how and why we grow it the way we do.
Whether you're a keen home grower or simply curious about where your food comes from, this tour offers a rare and honest look at regenerative, intensive market gardening in the Irish climate.
What you'll see on the tour:
Propagation tunnel
Where everything begins. See how we start over 50 varieties of vegetables from seed, manage germination, and care for young transplants.
Seed starting & nursery
Learn our seeding schedule, compost mixes, tray management, and the techniques we use to get a head start on the season.
Outdoor growing beds
Tour our permanent raised beds and open field plots. We'll walk through bed building, spacing, succession planting, soil health, and weed management.
Polytunnels
Explore our tunnel production — crops that extend the season, our unique cherry tomato varieties, and what we're growing year-round.
